Traveling into Morgan County from any direction you'll discover a piece of Ohio that is fast becoming one of the greatest tourism attractions in the south eastern region of the state. Untouched by today's fast moving pace, a visit to Morgan County will be a refreshing change from the frenzied schedules and hectic regiments so common today.

Outdoor adventure is the county's most popular draw and Burr Oak State Park and Resort play a huge part in that experience. Hiking through a palette of rich reds, golds and greens, or casting on a calm, clear lake is one memory your family is sure to treasure.

Morgan is also home to the AEP ReCreation land, which encompasses 60,000 continuous acres of free hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping and is home to the Big Musky Bucket at Miner's Memorial Park. Nearby, you'll find the Wolf Creek Wildlife area, owned by ODNR, set aside for public hunting and fishing as well.

Tucked into some of Ohio's most beautiful hill country lie many rustic cabin hideaways, where trees tower, wildlife sings, and Mother Nature showcases her most artistic landscaping techniques. The Muskingum River with it's historic locks and dams traverses the county and is the state's second official water trail. The river is an ideal destination for leisure canoeing and kayaking, and home to a popular bass tournament.
